The Young Academics publication series \u2018Radicalisation, Extremism and Terrorism in Flux\u2019 offers early-career researchers the opportunity to publish their research findings on current and future recruitment and radicalisation pathways in the digital and physical worlds, which go beyond traditional research into radicalisation, extremism and terrorism. Of particular interest are interdisciplinary social science approaches to new forms of extremism and terrorism, which are often planned in the digital sphere and targeted at vulnerable underage groups via gaming or lifestyle contexts. In addition to ideologically or religiously motivated forms of extremism and terrorism, or those arising from a belief in conspiracy theories, the conference may also address post-ideological radicalisation movements such as the nihilistic, violence-prone extremism<\/em> of groups such as 764<\/em> or the Murder Maniac Cult (MMC)<\/em> of the so-called \u2018Com-groups\u2019.<\/p>\n

In general, contributions on the following areas are welcome: left-wing extremism (including environmental extremism), right-wing extremism (including \u2018Terrorgram\u2019, with international dimensions), conspiracy theory circles (e.g. Reich Citizens, \u2018Querdenker\u2019), religious extremism (e.g. jihadism, takfirism), group-focused hostility (anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim racism) and hate crimes (e.g. femicide).<\/p>\n

The target audience comprises authors from both practice and research who wish to make their academic theses on current forms of radicalisation, as well as extremist or terrorist phenomena, accessible to a wider audience. The focus is on the concept of the prevention of violent extremism (PVE) and the fight against all forms of terrorism (CT), utilising interdisciplinary approaches that are at the cutting edge of academic research. Both systematic and empirically guided approaches to the various topics are considered, which distinguish themselves from traditional research approaches through their innovative themes and methodologies. The series aims to contribute added value to contemporary research into extremism and terrorism by taking into account the increasing transformation of forms and processes of radicalisation.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/article>\n
