Philosophy<\/h3>\n \n

A central component of our philosophy programme are the “Writings from the Estate of Wolfgang Harich”, edited with further documents and materials by Dr Andreas Heyer and sponsored by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Wolfgang Harich (1923-1995) is one of the most important and controversial intellectuals of the 20th century and is considered one of the most distinguished Marxist GDR philosophers. His posthumous writings are published by Tectum in a twelve-volume edition. In addition, Tectum publishes works from the fields of philosophy of history, political philosophy, philosophy of culture, philosophy of religion, social philosophy and applied ethics research.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n\n

\n Edited by Prof. Dr. Christoph Asmuth and PD Dr. Christoph Binkelmann<\/strong>\r\n<\/br><\/br>\r\nThe series presents outstanding theses in the field of philosophy. The focus is on research-oriented theses devoted to topics from classical philosophy, especially from antiquity, the Middle Ages, modern times and classical German philosophy, as well as topics from continental philosophy up to the present. This includes works from the field of phenomenology as well as topics from philosophical anthropology, political philosophy and ethics. The works show an intensive linking of historical and systematic approaches. In this respect, the title of the series is programmatic: it is about remembering or re-membering classical philosophical concepts through an active and systematically oriented philosophising. \n Edited by Dr Andreas Heyer<\/strong>\r\n<\/br><\/br>\r\nWolfgang Harich (1923-1995) ranks among the important and disputatious intellectuals of the 20th century.\r\n<\/br><\/br>\r\nFriends with Gy\u00f6rgy Luk\u00e1cs, Bertolt Brecht and Ernst Bloch, he worked as a philosopher, historian, literary scholar and through his practical political commitment. The latter led to his arrest in 1956 for forming a “counter-revolutionary group” and his sentencing to ten years in prison.\r\n\r\nHarich’s posthumous writings are published for the first time in a sixteen-volume edition that reflects the rich oeuvre of this undogmatic lateral thinker in all its breadth.
