Tectum\u2019s collection of cultural studies publications encompasses all areas of cultural studies. In addition to ethnology, folklore and anthropology, there is a special focus on historical cultural studies and cultural history. A further focus is on popular culture and the study of contemporary media as well as cultural education. This is also reflected in our series of publications. The series \u2018kommunikation & kultur\u2019 (communication & culture), for example, combines the methods of cultural studies with those of communication studies. The series \u2018Kulturanalysen\u2019 (Cultural Analyses) focuses on the consequences of social inequality, gender and media analyses, while contributions on cultural studies\u2019 contextualisation of literary studies appear in \u2018Literatur \u2013 Kultur \u2013 Text\u2019 (Literature\u2014Culture\u2014Text).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n\n

It emerged from the journal of the same name published by the Alfred Lorenzer Society in Marburg and presents political and social topics from a psychoanalytical perspective. Focal points include media analysis, gender, consequences of social inequality, migration, xenophobia. The series deals with the region of the Near and Middle East from an interdisciplinary social science perspective. Complementing the sister series “Middle Eastern Studies. Middle Eastern Studies” (Nomos), this Young Academics series includes only outstanding theses by Master’s students from Islamic\/Middle Eastern-related programmes. Additions from related subjects such as cultural and social geography, jurisprudence and social and cultural anthropology are also included. In addition to the empirical recording and theoretical reflection of current processes of change, the focus is also on questions of contemporary history on topics from politics, economics, society and culture as well as postcolonial knowledge production. The editors of the publication series do not understand the region as a closed unit, but strive in particular to depict the mutual integration into world society and the resulting local, national, regional and international interconnections.<\/br>
